Checklist for Industrial Design Application in Canada


 

  • Name and address of each applicant. Only the current proprietor (owner) of the design can apply for registration of the design.
  • Title in English identifying the finished article to which the design is applied.
  • Description in English that identifies the features that constitute the design, preferably in an editable format.
  • Drawings or photographs. All views in the drawings or photographs must show the complete finished article in isolation. The article must be shown against a neutral (blank) background. Stippled or broken lines may be used to show portions of the article that are not part of the design. The design must be shown in solid lines.
  • The title, description and drawings must provide an accurate picture of the design.
  • Convention Priority. The filing date in Canada must be no more than 6 months from the earliest priority date. The claim for priority must be made at filing. The country, filing date and application number of the priority application(s) must be given.
  • Appointment of Agent in favour of Integral IP, signed by each applicant. If the applicant is a company, the Appointment of Agent should be signed by an officer of the company (CEO, CFO, COO, Director, etc.). We will send you the Appointment of Agent upon request.
