About Us
Integral IP is a patent prosecution boutique. Our technical specialties include all aspects of communications, processor architecture, image and signal processing, circuitry, electronics, software, medical devices, automotive engineering, general mechanics, and chemistry.
Our team members have extensive technical experience and practical, relevant patent knowledge. Our patent agents are registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).
- Miriam Paton Miriam is a co-founder and the Principal of Integral IP. With over a decade of patent experience, 8 years of experience as a software designer and developer, and degrees in math, physics and law, Miriam is proficient in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of disciplines. Her acute analytical skills and deep understanding of complex patent prosecution issues in many different jurisdictions have assisted clients in obtaining hundreds of patents worldwide. Miriam has been involved in the preparation of non-infringement opinions and has provided support to clients in negotiations with competitors.
- Jay Millman Jay is of counsel to Integral IP. Jay is a patent agent with experience in mechanical, electromechanical, chemical and software-related technologies. His engineering experience permits him to speak with engineers and inventors as a genuine peer, and to thoroughly understand the technical merit of an invention, which is key to securing strong patent protection.
- Danny Kaufman Danny is a co-founder and the Managing Director of Integral IP. Since 2002, Danny has been involved in the preparation and prosecution of patents involving computer software and hardware, image processing, electronics, wireless communications, semiconductors, and medical devices. With over 11 years as an R&D electronics engineer in the positions of developer, system architect and manager, Danny has worked with a broad selection of high-tech companies that include start-ups and world-recognized technology companies.
- Amy Scouten Amy is a Scientific Advisor with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. In addition to her broad background in applied physics and electrical engineering, Amy has 6 years of specialized research experience in the field of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Amy has extensive MRI pulse sequence programming experience on both Siemens IDEA and GE EPIC platforms, and she has designed and implemented a variety of functional MRI studies on imaging systems in the USA, UK, and Canada. Her knowledge of MR physics and practical experience with MRI implementation issues afford her the ability to effectively communicate with scientists and engineers in this highly specialized field.
